SouthWest NanoTechnologies (SWeNT)’s Chief Executive Officer, Dave Arthur has taken part in a panel discussion titled ‘Recent Advances and Challenges in Nanomanufacturing,’ conducted on March 29, 2012 at the SME 2012 NanoManufacturing Conference at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston, Massachusetts.
During the panel discussion, Arthur talked about a number of topics, ranging from the research and development stage to commercialization and mass production stage of carbon nanotube powders, printable inks and dispersions. He focused on the latest developments in product performance and on ways for drastically reducing costs, and the resulting novel applications that can be developed. Other members of the panel included academic researchers and nanomanufacturing specialists from major companies.
SWeNT is a specialty chemical company that produces superior-quality single-wall and specialty multi-wall carbon nanotubes and printable carbon nanotube inks for numerous applications and products, including cost-effective photovoltaics, printed electronics, energy-efficient lighting, enhanced energy storage, and different composite applications. The company was formed in 2001 to follow on a nanotube research at the University of Oklahoma. It uses its patented CoMoCAT catalytic method to selectively synthesize single-wall carbon nanotubes with better control over purity, charity and diameter.
