Miami University Student Wins Award to Present Paper at Biophysics Meeting

Eric Frey, a senior physics major, has received a student travel award to attend the joint meeting of the Biophysical Society and the International Biophysics Congress in Long Beach, Calif., Feb. 2-6. Recipients of this competitive award are selected based on scientific merit, with priority given to those who will present a paper at the conference. Frey will present "Fluorescence-based Calcium-ion Sensing at High Hydrostatic Pressures."

The Biophysical Society's annual meeting is the world's largest meeting of biophysicists - more than 6,000 attendees are expected. Complete information about the meeting can be found at www.biophysics.org/meetings/2008/.

Frey is one of 53 students internationally to receive the award.
