NANOPHOX CS | Next Generation DLS Instrument

As pioneers of photon cross-correlation spectroscopy (PCCS), Sympatec has developed a promising technology based on dynamic light scattering (DLS) for particle size analysis in the range of 0.5 nm to 10,000 nm.

PCCS - in contrast to photon correlation spectroscopy (PCS) - has the advantage of correctly measuring particle size distributions without the influence of multiple scattered light. Time-consuming sample dilution can be prevented as highly concentrated suspensions or emulsions are directly measured.

NANOPHOX CS takes the established PCCS to another level with Sympatec’s unique polarisation-separated backscatter PCCS.

Outstanding Performance Features

  • Measurement times up to ten times faster | Measurements up to less than one minute
  • Up to one hundred times higher sample concentrations | Measure samples in their original concentration without dilution
  • Increased accuracy and repeatability of measurement results

Further PCCS Advantages

  • Effective research, development, and quality control procedures
  • The elimination of multiple scattering allows for concentration-independent particle characterization
  • An expansion of standard PCS allows for simultaneous measurements of particle size and stability in opaque suspensions and emulsions
  • Simple sample preparation without any unnecessary dilution series
  • Unaffected by contamination of the sample
  • No required cleanroom conditions
  • Direct measurement of stability, agglomeration and sedimentation of slightly charged (electro-steric stabilized) to uncharged (steric stabilized) particles of turbid samples
  • Premature detection of invisible destabilisation (micro agglomeration) of suspensions or emulsions
  • Highly sensitive to changes in size and measurement of bimodal distributions
  • Solid-state measuring method for in-situ observation of changes in stability or size, e.g., growth and crystallization processes
  • Analysis of novel phenomena in high-concentrated materials, such as particle-particle interactions and viscosity variations
  • Combination of PCS and PCCS allows a wide concentration range

At the push of a button, the PAQXOS software automatically sets all measurement parameters, checks the measurability of the sample before starting the analysis, and outputs the signal quality for orientation during and after the measurement.

The automatic adjustment of the laser intensity and the precise positioning of the cuvette to maximize the measuring signal are particularly user-friendly.
