EIGER2 X and XE Detector Series from DECTRIS

The brightness of synchrotrons keeps getting better. To manipulate the increasing photon fluxes at the strongest beamlines, the EIGER2 X and XE detectors are integrated with DECTRIS retrigger technology, which was first launched with PILATUS3 and supports a fourfold increased photon-counting capacity of up to 107 photons/second/pixel.

The EIGER2 X and XE X-ray detectors include several extra innovations. The continuous readout of the EIGER detector has been improved to be completely dead time-free. The detectors currently offer a second tunable energy-discriminating threshold and provide gateable detection for pump-and-probe experiments.

The pixel size of 75 µm and direct detection of photons for maximum spatial resolution have been retained from the EIGER detector.

DECTRIS ultra-fast, large-area detectors help users to expand their research applications. The absence of dark current or readout noise allows users to quantify the best data.
