EM GP2 prepares vitrified EM grids by automatically blotting excess liquid and plunge freezing into liquid ethane. A temperature- and humidity-controlled environmental chamber (+4 °C to +60 °C, up to 99% RH) helps keep conditions stable prior to freezing for cryo-TEM workflows such as single particle analysis and cryo-tomography.
Key Features
- Automate vitrification for thin, fluid samples with automatic blotting followed by plunge freezing into liquid ethane (bare grid technique).
- Improve grid consistency for imaging with sensor blotting that helps create an evenly distributed surface on the grid.
- Help reduce the risk of sample and film damage through controlled blotting conditions during preparation.
- Stabilize pre-freezing conditions in a protected chamber with adjustable temperature (+4 °C to +60 °C) and humidity (up to 99% RH).
- Configure blotting to your protocol with automated or manual single/double/multiple blotting and adjustable timing and positions (pre-/blot/post-blot time; blot & transfer positions).
- Improve cryogen workflow safety with a rapid condensing liquefier head for easy/safe filling and a fixed secondary cryogen position (only the chamber moves).
- Reduce ice contamination and devitrification risk after freezing using a dry nitrogen gas flow environment.
- Support liquid-phase storage and transfer with a transfer container and pre-cooled grid box, plus a customized adapter for safe transfer to different cryo-TEMs.
