MIRcat Mid-IR Laser: High-Speed, Broad-Spectrum Performance

The field-proven multi-quantum cascade laser system of the first generation of MIRcat laser is enhanced by the MIRcat with longer wavelength possibilities, more spectral repeatability, better thermal management, and high-speed tuning.

With its versatile, modular architecture that enables factory configuration of up to four pulsed or continuous wave/pulsed modules, as well as the flexibility to add or upgrade modules later, the MIRcat is really a one-box, fully automated system. The MIRcat provides wavelength coverage up to >13 µm and a tuning range reaching 1000 cm-1 (>6 µm).

It also yields unparalleled, industry-leading performance in crucial areas like peak tuning speeds exceeding 30,000 cm-1/s, output power reaching up to 1 W, and TEM00 beam quality to facilitate high-efficiency fiber coupling.

With a novel, higher-precision tuning mechanism and lower-noise drive electronics, CW RIN can be as low as -140 dBc/Hz, and wavelength repeatability can reach as high as <0.1 cm-1.
