Nanotechnology and Future Energy Generation, Storage and Use
This video from the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry
features an interview with Professor Jim Hutchison
from the University of Oregon. Professor Hutchison
looks at the production storage and use of energy and how it is set to
be changed by nanotechnology. He looks at a range of energy scenarios
from solar cells, to hydrogen fuel cells and next generation batteries.
As part of the impact of
nanomaterials on energy generation Professor Hutchison mentions
environmental benefits due to lessening reliance upon fossil fuels as
an energy source. He also looks at potential nanotechnology risks such
as bioaccumulation of manufactured nanoparticles.
