Shrink Nanotechnologies’ Electronic Glue Chemistry Help Make Printed Sensors from Nanocrystals

Shrink Nanotechnologies, Inc. an innovative nanotechnology company developing products and licensing opportunities in the solar energy industry, medical diagnostics and sensors and biotechnology research and development tools businesses, announced today through its wholly owned subsidiary, BlackBox Semiconductor, Inc., that its recently licensed "electronic glue" chemistry will enable printed optical sensors to be fabricated from semiconductor nanocrystals with low cost roll-to-roll processing, ushering in a new era of potential for the emerging smart device business.

Selective Area Growth of High-Quality InP Layers on 200mm Si(001) Wafers

Imec has demonstrated the selective area growth of high-quality InP layers on 200mm Si(001) wafers. Key to avoiding the typically formed and unwanted antiphase boundaries (APBs) is the creation of atomic steps on a thin Ge buffer layer. This result is a major step forward towards the fabrication of high-performance Ge/III-V CMOS devices and the integration of optoelectronic devices on a Si chip.
