World's First Functional 22nm CMOS SRAM Cells Made Using EUV Lithography

Today, IMEC presented the world's first functional 22nm CMOS SRAM cells made using EUV lithography. The 0.099µm² SRAM cells are made with FinFETs and have both the contact and metal1 layer printed using ASML's full field extreme ultraviolet (EUV) Alpha Demo Tool (ADT).

Researchers Discover New Nanoscale Motor in the Ear

Utah and Texas researchers have learned how quiet sounds are magnified by bundles of tiny, hair-like tubes atop "hair cells" in the ear: when the tubes dance back and forth, they act as "flexoelectric motors" that amplify sound mechanically.
