InterDigital and imec Enter Agreement to Develop 60 GHz mmW Radio and Phased Array Technology

InterDigital, Inc., a wireless research and development company, and nano-electronics research center imec, today announced an agreement to develop 60 GHz millimeter wave (mmW) radio and phased array technology for small cell backhaul and 5G wireless communications. The technology will enable easier deployments for small cell mobile backhaul resulting in lower cost solutions for high-speed data delivery.

Polymer Group Invests $8 Million to Utilize Nanofiber Technology for Filtration Applications

Polymer Group Inc. (PGI), the world's largest nonwovens manufacturer, announced today that it will make a strategic investment of approximately $8 million to upgrade machinery and expand its manufacturing plant in Waynesboro, Va. Researchers Perform Chemical Analysis by Roasting Nanoparticles on Top of Quartz Crystals

Researchers from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) have demonstrated that they can make sensitive chemical analyses of minute samples of nanoparticles by, essentially, roasting them on top of a quartz crystal.
