The Department of Defense needs materials for armor windows that provide essential protection for both personnel and equipment while still having a high degree of transparency. To meet that need, scientists at the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) have developed a method to fabricate nanocrystalline spinel that is 50% harder than the current spinel armor materials used in military vehicles.

SEM Micrographs Reveal Near-Perfect Layering of Graphene Molecules in Miller Graphite

Canada Carbon Inc. (the "Company") is pleased to present these Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) images of its Miller hydrothermal graphite crystals, provided to it by the El Segundo, California laboratories of Evans Analytical Group. These micrographs clearly reveal the highly crystalline nature of the Miller graphite, evidenced by both the platy shapes of the crystals, and their highly organized layered structure, in a way that is now clearly visible to the naked eye.
