Qlight Nanotech, developer of products based on semiconductor nanocrystals for use in flat panel displays and efficient LED lighting, won the Best Nanotechnology Company of the Year Award at the NanoIsrael 2014 conference. Qlight Nanotech was founded in 2009 by Professor Uri Banin as a spin-off of Yissum, the technology transfer company of Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

Danish Scientists Observed Live Growth of Nanoparticles Using DESY’s X-Ray Source PETRA III

With DESY's X-ray light source PETRA III, Danish scientists observed the growth of nanoparticles live. The study shows how tungsten oxide nanoparticles are forming from solution. These particles are used for example for smart windows, which become opaque at the flick of a switch, and they are also used in particular solar cells.
