Cadence Tools Achieve Certification from TSMC for 10nm FinFET Process

Cadence Design Systems, Inc. today announced that its digital, signoff and custom/analog tools have achieved V1.0 Design Rule Manual (DRM) and SPICE certification from TSMC for its 10-nanometer (nm) FinFET process. Cadence and TSMC are also continuing to collaborate on the advancement of 7nm technologies and have completed tools certification and the delivery of the latest Process Design Kit (PDK) for mutual customers to initiate early design starts based on the most current version of the DRM and SPICE model.

Atherosclerosis is a disease that causes a buildup of plaque in arteries. The disease is an invisible and prolific killer, but its ability to hide in the body and create havoc may soon be lost. A SPIE Europe sponsored workshop will be led by Frank Koppens of ICFO (Institut de Ciències Fotòniques, Barcelona Institute of Science and Technology) and Nathalie Vermeulen of B-PHOT (Brussels Photonics Team, Vrije Universiteit Brussel) on April 5, 2016, in Brussels. Manchester University Scientists Observe Self-Rotating Graphene

The question at the University of Manchester regarding interaction in two-dimensional (2D) materials is whether self-rotation occurs in heterostructures if various crystals are clubbed together, such as graphene on boron nitride. It was observed that perfect stacking between boron nitride and graphene occurs, and when the heterostructural layers are disturbed, the crystals undergo self-rotation and retain the ideal configuration. This effect was known at the nanoscale, but it was not seen on larger scales until the recent findings, published in Nature Communications.
