Nikon Partners with SUNY’s CNSE to Develop Next Generation Lithography Technology

Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today announced that Nikon Corporation, a world leader in digital imaging technology and computer chip development, has partnered with SUNY’s College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering (CNSE) in a $350 million investment to develop the first of its kind next generation lithography technology on 450mm wafer and create 100 high-tech jobs.

Positive Results from Novavax Phase 1 Trial of Nanoparticle RSV Vaccine

Novavax, Inc. today announced positive top-line safety and immunogenicity data for its respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) vaccine candidate from a dose-ranging Phase 1 study in elderly adults. All subject groups receiving the recombinant fusion (F) protein nanoparticle vaccine candidate exhibited antibody responses against RSV at 28 and 56 days post-immunization, with rises in serum anti-F immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibody levels.

Novel Nanofiber Mesh Simultaneously Realizes Thermotherapy and Chemotherapy of Tumors

A research team headed by Dr. Mitsuhiro Ebara, a MANA Scientist of the Biomaterials Unit of the International Center for Materials Nanoarchitectonics (WPI-MANA, NIMS) developed a new nanofiber mesh which is capable of simultaneously realizing thermotherapy (hyperthermia) and chemotherapy (treatment with anticancer drugs) of tumors. Using this nanofiber mesh, the team succeeded in efficiently inducing natural death (apoptosis) of epithelial cancer cells.
