Wide Range of Motion Control Solutions from PI

This video shows Physik Instrumente (PI)’s motion control solutions for laser material processing, together with ACS and SCANLAB. The motion control solution integrates the sample scanner and the laser beam scanner, providing the ability to mark and process large pieces with superior precision and an ultimate throughput of up to 41% compared to conventional systems.

Simultaneous 2D processing eliminates stitching errors; provides large field view, wide range XY stages; and enables smooth processing with high dynamics with no stage vibrations high-speed scanning. Piecewise processing (stitching) of large workpieces is susceptible to marking displacement near the edges of neighboring fields. By integrating the motion of the scan head with the motion of the XY stage, stitching errors are eliminated and the process time is also shortened considerably.
