This video offers a glimpse of the ultra-precision rotation stages from Physik Instrumente (PI). Part of the structural series UPR-270, these rotation stages are developed for dynamic positioning of high load applications. They are chiefly used for positioning systems of laser treatment, in the field of semiconductor technology, synchrotron, and robotics applications. A torque motor drives all rotation stages of the structural series UPR, thereby eliminating the need for mechanical transmissions. This results in higher acceleration and speed and better positioning accuracies. Calibrated, paired angular ball bearings ensure a high central load capacity without breakdown torque. UPR rotation stages are fitted with inductive reference switches and a high resoluting angular scale.
